  Super friendly and helpful staff always put up with and in most cases join in with me and my sense of humor. Great selection of product on the shelf. Great place to shop

  Great store. Always plenty of registers open and the cashiers are friendly. People in the Bessemer Wal-Mart act like they hate you - even the managers. People at this Publix are friendly and helpful - even the folks stocking the shelves. This is the place to shop in McCalla.

  Ok, so generally I LIKE this store, aside from the fact that Pharmacy will hang up on you when you're trying to find out if a prescription was sent to them from your doctor....... I used to go by every week for a fish or chicken plate at the deli. However, recently, I dunno what it is, but the deli staff has been outright rude. Since my mom doesn't review, I'll just say it. Mom was at the front of the line one night, and the deli staff ignored her, serving every single other customer (presumably different skin color than my mom?) and THEN acknowledged my mom. She arrived at my house quite angry and livid. So, I let it go, didn't raise any guff about it since I wasn't there to witness it..... But then.... I and my brother decided to go grocery shopping, and pick something up on the way back. It was during deli hours. They ignore my brother and I, and handled the other customers (again, talking nicer to them than us, glaring at us with contempt....and I have no idea what we did to offend, but now, I don't care anymore). When one of the deli people acknowledged us, my brother asks if it's too late for a quick sub sandwich. She says, while being snoddy, "Oh you want a sandwich too," turns around, walks off. She didn't walk off to do anything in particular. We ended up leaving empty-handed, because we were tired of it all.... We weren't the only people who were off-put in there.... You guys lost a deli regular... or three... I hate to say it, but the store appears to be going downhill, based on recent experiences this month. Therefore until those issues are fixed, and not just flinging freebies and easy to come by apologies that mean nothing, it's going to be 1-star.
